Who can ride info?

•    Ages 13 and above are recommended for the trails and a good level of fitness is recommended for all individuals.
•    Pony rides are available for the younger children and need to be booked in advance.
•    Please wear long pants as the saddles will pinch your skin if you wear shorts.
•    Closed, secure shoes are a must. Pumps and flip- flops are unsafe to wear
•    Hat or Sun-tan lotion or sun protective shirts are important as there are some trails that are in the sun.
•    Swimming gear is optional if you are booking the rock pool ride.
•    Less, is more… Just you and the horse are perfect for the ride.a
•    We do provide safety helmets


8 km Farm & Mountain Loop

A lovely ride for beginners who want to get a taste for riding or for those getting back in the saddle. From our farm we venture up the farm road and onto the lower mountain path into the foothills of the Outeniqua Mountains. We will have the occasional trot and canter for the more experienced riders, but all nice and easy and work our way back to the farm.

9 km Viewpoint Trail

This trail goes up the farm road into the foothills of the Outiniqua mountains.  It is quite hilly as we climb high up to the Viewpoint where we overlook the farmlands and sea.
This trail is suitable for fit beginners but not small children.


11 km Rockpool Trail

This trail takes you up the farm road into the foothills of the Outiniqua mountains and decends down into the indigenous forests winding towards the rockpools where a swim in the cool waters can be enjoyed.  
We provide a home baked snack and drink. Beginners are welcome on this trail.

11 km Rockpool Picnic Trail

This is the same trail as above except on returning to the stables you enjoy a lovely farm platter with MCC bubbly at our little Cafe, Saddles & Steam Stable Cafe.

13 km Mountain Magic Trail

This ride is only for experienced riders who are prepared to trot and canter. We ride high into the mountains and overlook the farmlands and ocean while riding above the beautiful indigenous forests.

Pony Rides

The pony rides need to be booked in advance.
We lead the children on our pony around the fields on the farm. Very small children will need to have their parents walk with them.
We do offer pony rides to Adults too but no free riding around the farm will be permitted.
